Chinese Zodiac Pig Sensual Indulgent And Loving

Asian myths abound about how the animal names were linked to its calendar. One that is widely believed is that Buddha, before departing this world, arranged a feast for the animals. However only twelve joined him and they in order of their arrival were immortalized in the almanac. Although Chinese Zodiac Pig, who was the last to arrive, gave their name to the final year of the cycle they are by no means less important than any other the others.

With this being the end of the twelve year period there is a sense of completion and an air of anticipation with new beginnings. Pig years have been known to herald resurgence in sagging global economies, indulgent happy times, increased betting and gambling and world sporting records broken.

This is a year that shares it good fortunes with people born in other Chinese years. Throughout the last century items of importance to one's daily living were discovered in Pig years such as color film, plastic, vitamins and the transistor.

The Pig child is a happy-go-lucky soul and from an early age exhibits traits that will be with them for life. Affectionate and friendly with laid-back dispositions, they are able to take what ever life throws at them as they are endowed with an amazing inner strength. Pigs however are often taken advantage of and disappointed in their dealings with others as they firmly believe that everyone's motives are always honest and pure.

People born under this sign are sincere with infinite tolerance and a strong code of honor. They will want to serve and help others and as a result their kindness is often abused. These people are at their happiest when spoiling their loved ones and female Pigs make great, caring mothers. Arranging parties for others and entertaining gives the Pig enormous satisfaction.

In heart matters the Pig is romantic, sensual, delights in stimulation of the senses and adores physical pleasure. They can however be extremely possessive and jealous and with them it is often a case of all or nothing in a relationship.

Do not be fooled by the tender, tolerant demeanor because if challenged these non-judgmental people can turn nasty. The Chinese Zodiac Pig has a great desire for knowledge and will be an avid questioning reader, testing facts and findings until they are happy that they properly understand it. Logical of mind and a diligent worker they are able to make a go of most careers with special leanings towards sales, hotel and food industry, health care and archeology.

Chinese folk religion today?

What is the religion of modern day china. What does the everyday citzen practice. I saw on the earthquake news report a lady cutting clothes of the dead to allow the spirit to go to the afterlife. further i know that they worship a number of gods and spirits.
When i try looking it up all i get is that they follow a combination of confucianism, taoism and buddhism.
Buddhist do not believe in an after life, they believe in re-incarnation and dont pay attention to gods. Confucianism is basicly a governmental-ethical code and taoism has everything to do with a good life and nothing to do with gods and mythology.
so what are these chinese really doing? I doubt that the average chinese dwelves in the phliosophies of the buddha daily.
plus is there a website which contains this

Early Chinese history, like the Western, is of divine culture. Similar to the Greek mythology, Chinese mythology also consists of various deities, gods, Buddhas, goddesses, Taoists and heaven and earth creation story, While many modern people do not want to recognize the historical existence of the figures in the mythology. Stories of these figures were recorded in the Chinese history, as a tradition of the imperial court. The recorder must document the event when it happened. In the West, the Bible also documented events in ancient time. In addition, there are many ethnic groups in China. Each ethnic group has it own cultural tradition and folklore, enriching the overall Chinese civilization. Some of the folklore can be found in:

Another good story would be the Monkey King.
Chinese people believe in many deities and gods - you can find the posters on the doors and in the Chinese restaurants.

Sometime in the Dang Dynasty, the Buddhist scripture was brought back by a Chinese monk from India. The Buddhist belief was accepted by the people. Around the same period, Confucius and Taoist belief were also found. The Buddha caves along the Silk Road started to appear when Buddhist monks increased in number.

During the Great Cultural Revolution in China, many Buddhist monks and Taoists were forced to give up the practice; the traditional beliefs, books, paintings, arts, and cultural objects were destroyed. Many citizens has lost touch with the Confucius teaching about good moral values since then. In addition, the Chinese Communist regime has continued to broadcast propaganda through state controlled medias, and extended them through the Chinese consulates around the globe. The recent Flushing instance is an example. http://en.epochtimes.com/news/8-6-7/71547.html

In the modern times, the Chinese Communist regime is persecuting Tibetan monks, Buddhists, and Falun Gong practitioners. The worst human right abuse is the harvesting of organs from live Falun Gong practitioners.

Can you kindly sign a petition to stop persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China ahead of the Beijing Olympics, please ?
