Signature metal guitars
For some guitarists, the signature guitar can either give them the tone of their hero, or just be another way to get more money out of them. Heres a few of the signature guitars out there for the 'metallers'.
The Dimebag range from Dean Guitars. The average guitarist will have one guitar made for them -Dimebag has a range of 33 guitars made in his memory. After his death in 2004 Dean decided not to let the guitarists name go into obsuricty and bought out a large range of Dimebag Darrell guitars. The pickups in the guitar depends on the age -newer ones feature the 'Dimebucker', instead of EMGs. So select your choice of pickup and decide which of the 33 looks best to you and enjoy hours upon hours of metal. If you love Pantera then there is no question- buy this guitar. And with prices from £219 upwards -one of those thirty three has to appeal to you.
The BC Rich Kerry King (Slayer) range. Also having more than one signature guitar is Slayer Guitarist Kerry King. Available as either a flying V or Explorer shaped guitar as well, painted with tribal designs to match his head tattoos, these guitars look as mean as their owner, but how do they sound? Not bad, they certainly go along way to helping you achieve that harsh 'Slayer' guitar tone. With BC Rich's special pickups to, you can see that some thought has gone into these guitars.
Jackon's Phil Demell guitar. Created with help from Phil Demell of Machine head, this guitar is truly a beast to be reckoned with. The guitar has EMG pickups and is shaped like a flying V and ready to tear your head off. Expensive, but to say at the least at £1100, if you have that kind of money I suggest you buy you now -those that dont, sell your organs online to get the money.

Can I mix metal finishes in my bathroom design?
I'm remodeling my bathroom and just recently installed a new shower door with chrome handles and hardware. Does this mean I should stick with chrome for my vanity hardware, faucet, light fixtures, towel bars, etc... or can I use a different material? If so, any suggestions? My vanity is a honey red oak with either a jet black or light cream top (haven't decided yet) and I'd like to go with a neutral wall color and add color in accessories as we will be selling soon. Any help would be appreciated!
Can you mix metal finishes? Of course you can! It just depends on what kind of look you're going for. If you want it to look sleek, you might want to stick with faucets that have the same metal finish. You could always add decorative towel bars and other accents to add some color. If you still need supplies to redo your bathroom, you can check out our site http://www.decorisland.com

A heart of gold (MIT)
A team of researchers at MIT and Children’s Hospital Boston has built cardiac
patches studded with tiny gold wires that could be used to create pieces of
tissue whose cells all beat in time, mimicking the dynamics of natural heart
muscle. The development could someday help people who have suffered heart
attacks.
The study, reported this week in _Nature Nanotechnology_, promises to improve
on existing cardiac patches, which have difficulty achieving the level of
conductivity necessary to ensure a smooth, continuous “beat” throughout a
large piece of tissue.
“The heart is an electrically quite sophisticated piece of machinery,” says
Daniel Kohane, a professor in the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and
Technology (HST) and senior author of the paper. “It is important that the
cells beat together, or the tissue won’t function properly.”
The unique new approach uses gold nanowires scattered among cardiac cells as
they’re grown in vitro, a technique that “markedly enhances the performance of
the cardiac patch,” Kohane says. The researchers believe the technology may
eventually result in implantable patches to replace tissue that’s been damaged
in a heart attack.
Co-first authors of the study are MIT postdoc Brian Timko and former MIT
postdoc Tal Dvir, ...
