Why Does Cool Go With Designer Sunglasses
For many, it's Top Gun's Aviators.Others might mean Ray Bans as in the Blues Brothers or the Big Lebowski.The Dude appears to be wearing Ray-Bans, but no one is certain.Could be they are an older line because Bridges' wore his own stuff for the movie!  Not many are thinking Dr Strangelove when it comes to designer sunglasses!  For others it might just be the brand name of their designer sunglasses that’s vital: Animal, Burberry, D&G, Diesel, Emporio Armani, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Lacoste, Ray-Ban, Prada, Tommy Hilfiger or YSL.
What makes "Cool" important?After all, the basic task of sunglasses, even if they are designer sunglasses, is to provide protection from dangerous UV rays.Essentially, sunglasses are only meant to provide ultra violet protection as UV rays can cause lasting damage to your eyes.The minimum you should demand is that they prevent glare.
Some say "Cool" is nothing more than commercialised peer group pressure.  Cool is the development of what we learn as infants and teenagers: a smile, a certain savoir faire, attitudes or mannerisms that gets us the most positive response from the people we want to impress. As a teenager, those people are usually your friends and peers.For adults, those important people are most probably potential lovers.
Remember, don't be influenced by just the brand name. Whatever the brand, buy the ones that look best on you. Different people have faces of different shapes, so the sunglasses that look good on your friends or your idol may not look good on you. Buy sunglasses that suit your facial shape, hair colour and skin tone. Take the frame shape and colour into consideration when making your choice. Keep your complexion and skin tone in mind when choosing sunglasses.There's nothing wrong with going crazy and buying several pairs of designer sunglasses to match your wardrobe! Get as many pairs as you like to match your complete collection of outfits.
But before we start knocking “cool†altogether, remember that self esteem is also important.We all need to feel good about ourselves. Even more important and entirely in our own hands, is what we do with our own abilities.That is the essence of self-esteem.  And if thinking you look cool or good in a pair of designer sunglasses reinforces that perception and self esteem and encourages you to be confident and assertive, then where’s the harm in that?
